Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the website to recognise your browser on subsequent visits, retain information about your preferences, and gather anonymised data about how the site is used. They do not typically identify you personally, but they do allow a site to distinguish one visitor's session from another.

Saksama Legal uses a small number of cookies on this website. We do not use cookies for advertising profiling or cross-site tracking. This policy explains which cookies are set, why they are used, and how you can manage them.

2. Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies — Always Active

These cookies are necessary for the website to function. They enable core features such as security, network management, and accessibility. The site cannot operate properly without them and they cannot be disabled.

  • cookieConsent — stores your cookie preference so the consent notice is not shown repeatedly. Duration: 12 months.
  • PHPSESSID — a session identifier required for form submission processing. Duration: session (deleted when the browser is closed).

Analytics Cookies — Optional

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the website by collecting anonymised information such as the pages visited and the duration of each visit. The data is used only to improve the site; it is not shared for commercial purposes.

  • _ga, _gid — Google Analytics identifiers that count and distinguish unique visits. Duration: up to 2 years.

Marketing Cookies — Optional

These cookies may be set if advertising networks are used to help measure the effectiveness of outreach efforts. Saksama Legal does not presently operate advertising campaigns, but this category exists for disclosure purposes.

Preference Cookies — Optional

These cookies remember choices you make on the website — such as display preferences — so that the experience is consistent across visits. Duration varies; typically up to 12 months.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Where analytics services are active, cookies may be set by Google Analytics (operated by Google LLC). Google may process data on servers outside Malaysia. For further information on Google's data practices, please refer to Google's privacy documentation. We do not embed social media plugins that set third-party cookies, and we do not use advertising networks that place tracking cookies.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to withdraw consent to non-essential cookies at any time by using the preference toggles in Section 5 above or through your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies means we will receive no usage data about your visit; disabling preference cookies may mean the site does not remember your display settings between sessions. Essential cookies cannot be disabled without affecting site functionality.

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia), you may also request information about personal data we hold about you. For data-related enquiries, contact us at [email protected].
